Destilují se z takzvané svaté trojice bylin - pelyněk pravý, anýz a fenykl. Pro získání zemitosti v chuti je přidán kořen anděliky lékařské.

Po zakapání ledovou vodou se objeví výrazný závoj, tzv. louche, hutný a krásně mléčný. Výraznou vůni anýzu a fenyklu přidrží u země těžší tóny kořeny anděliky, která vnese tak trochu nádech připomínající čerstvou řepu.
